Mountain Top Behavioural Consultation was founded in 2024 to help meet the needs of the community through the science of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA).
The professional expertise at Mountain Top Behavioural Consultation allows for the full tailoring of ABA evidence-based strategies to fit your family’s dynamics, needs and values. We take a collaborative approach, working with all those that support you and your family. As caregivers you are the experts and guides for your child. As professionals, we are the experts within our disciplines and can provide tools and equipment to be your sherpas to help set you on your new path.
Mountain Top Behavioural Consultation strives to provide attentive, personal care throughout one’s lifespan. Working with individuals with Autism, ADHD, intellectual disability, and more, we appreciate and continue to support your unique experience by:
- identifying and attending to your, your child/youth, and family needs
- focusing on your family’s values and motivations to provide a supportive platform to encourage further personal and interpersonal growth in reaching new heights.
The push to found Mountain Top Behavioural Consultation was to meet the needs of the community and families like yours, and to fill these gaps using the science of ABA. As we all know, there is not just one path up the mountain when reaching new heights for you or your family.
Mountain Top Behavioural Consultation strives to find creative and innovative solutions to meet your family’s concerns and needs through an individualized and systematic approach using the evidence-based approach of ABA. Compared to other centers, Mountain Top Behavioural Consultation provides flexibility of service times and innovative programming. Capitalizing on your child/youth’s motivation and meeting them at their level, allows clinicians to get buy-in to initiate the journey to your mountain top.
Mountain Top Behavioural Consultation is located in Ottawa and on the un-ceded and un-surrendered Algonquin Anishinaabe territory whose presence and stewardship reaches back to time immemorial. We are also pleased to provide service throughout Ontario and turtle island.
The Team
Joseph (Joey) Robertson MA, BCBA, R.B.A. (Ont.)
Mountain Top behavioural consultation was founded by Joseph (Joey) Robertson, a registered behaviour analyst with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO) and a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). He is also a verified OAP Service Provider. Throughout his involvement in the Autism community, Joey had listened to and found that many families struggle with navigating services and finding appropriate care pathways for their child.
His expertise was developed over the last 20 years from a passion and commitment to provide equal opportunities and community participation for underserved and underrepresented communities. Within the last 12 years, Joey has focused his interest in supporting those with Autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders (ADHD, etc.), intellectual disability and other exceptionalities (e.g., genetic disorders) through the science of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA). As a clinical supervisor within a major service centre, he saw how many families fell through provincial and local service gaps, instigating his move to form Mountain Top Behavioural Consultation.
Joey has been published in a peer-reviewed academic journal and has presented his passion and research in many local, provincial, national and international conferences. His experience in working with many communities and passion for research has benefitted his clinical programs to ensure that they are informed by the most recent research. Joey has continued to share his passion with supervising future ABA clinicians as they enter the field.
